Lucky Prescott hopes to reconnect with both her mother’s memory and her father when she moves from the bustling city to live in small and sleepy Miradero. At first, she is unimpressed with the frontier town, but she soon has a change of heart when she befriends Abigail Stone and Pru Granger, and meets Spirit, a wild mustang who shares her independent streak. When a horse wrangler plots to capture Spirit and his herd, Lucky enlists her new friends to help her rescue the horse who has given her freedom and a sense of purpose, and has helped Lucky discover a tie to her mother’s legacy.
